Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

From My Students
Thibault has been teaching my son since June this year and I have been very impressed with his teaching. He pays attention to the essential elements of learning an instrument, taking time to teach him about the basics so that he has a strong foundation for his learning. He takes time to coach him as he plays – pointing out things that need improvement and areas to focus on during his practice in between classes. He is supportive and kind, often making my son laugh which makes the classes a real joy for him. I would highly recommend Thibault as a teacher.
‘As an older student I appreciate Thibault’s encouraging manner, giving me the confidence to tackle new techniques and pieces. I always come away from the lesson with a real appreciation for the music.’
Thibault is an amazing teacher, the best teacher we have ever had so far. He is kind and caring but still pushes us to the best of our ability. He is not too strict but when he has to be it is always for a good reason. He is encouraging and pleasant to work with.
Thibault has been my daughter’s cello teacher for over a year. He is an excellent teacher, his teaching emphasised the importance of building a solid foundation of techniques from the start and my daughter progressed very quickly once she built up a good solid foundation. Thibault is also a compassionate and supportive teacher, he has developed a great rapport with my daughter and she really enjoys cello classes with him. He was also adaptive with his teaching style especially when we had to move to online classes during the Covid19 pandemic, he used digital technology well and the quality of the learning remained high throughout. Thibault is a great teacher and we recommend him highly.
I would had as a parents that Thibault always goes the extra mile, giving his time generously to ensure the best progress from his pupils, my daughter is always happy to work with him and to do her best to raise to his expectations.
Teaching and sharing his passion with the young generation is another side of Thibault’s work.
He has been appointed as a cello teacher and music tutor for “Lewisham Music Hub” in March 2018 and is, since 2017, co-leading a summer course (Les Musicales du Haut-Doubs) for musicians in France. He is working on the development of a tighter relationship between the Senior and Junior Departments at Trinity Laban thanks to CoLab module. He is regularly invited to give masterclass in Maastricht (Netherlands) and Liège (Belgium).
He was the cello teacher in several music school around Besançon (France), between 2010 and 2014.
He also organized a 5-day masterclass for young cellists in Paris in October 2014, and was the chamber music teacher in masterclasses of Frédéric Borsarello in April 2017 and February 2018 in France.
He has also taken part in the writing of a pedagogical method ‘’Les Cahiers du Violoncelle’’ by Frédéric Borsarello in 2014.
” Thibault has worked for Lewisham Music for just under three years, and was one of the first tutors I met when I became Chief Executive in August 2019. I was immediately impressed with his professionalism and energy.
Thibault is a fantastic cello player and teacher. He works flexibly, teaching with individuals students and leading groups such as our Saturday Music Centre Chamber Orchestra. He has a strong relationship with pupils and parents/carers and goes above and beyond to support their musical progression.
Thibault is one of our most engaged tutors, always volunteering for new training and opportunities and discussing ideas. He works very well with management and other tutors. His recent support on Trinity Laban’s Animate: Next Generation project -where Thibault worked with a range of music leaders and young people who he’d not met before- demonstrated his enthusiastic and open-minded approach to music education. This was a creative project working with a range of musicians. Thibault was able to differentiate to meet the broad experiences of the pupils, and brilliantly encouraged pupils to ‘think outside the box’ and learn in new ways (for example using their ear rather than using sheet music).
Thibault is also confident with technology, and is continually looking to develop himself and his practice.
Lewisham Music is lucky to have Thibault, and I would highly recommend him for this position.”
